Sea Scout Ship 548 and Mariner Scout Ship 1548 were asked by the 7th District Optimists Club and the Clements Museum to assist with dock work for their 42nd Annual Blessing of the Fleet, October 4th and 5th. The scouts took the SSS Sea Eagle, their 46 foot schooner and docked at the Clements Museum on Friday evening. Saturday the Ship set up the dock at the museum in preparation to assist the attendees in boarding and un-boarding the boats ferrying back and forth to St. Clement?s Island. Saturday evening the schooner was moved and tied 1000 yards from the barge setting of the evening?s fireworks to watch the show first hand. Sea Scout Ship 548 and Mariner Scout Ship 1548 are very involved in local service events, both in St. Mary?s County and Calvert County.
