Several youth from local Sea Scout Ship 548 and Mariner Scout Ship 1548 spent this past weekend at Coast Guard Station St. Ingoes for their annual leadership training, known as Quarterdeck training. Eight youth and five adult leaders spent their time alternating between classroom instruction and interaction with the Coast Guard personnel. Saturday the scouts joined the Coast Guard crew for a ride on their 41 foot patrol craft for heaving line rescue training and were treated to a turn at the helm. In the spirit of Scouting and to thank the Coast Guard Station for their hospitality, the two Ships assisted in the mess hall at the station.
